Techs & Therapists at Danbury & New Milford Hospitals

The technical professionals and therapists at Danbury and New Milford Hospitals in the fall of 2014 formed a union in AFT Connecticut. The approximately 260 caregivers at both acute care facilities came together in order to have a voice and better advocate for their patients.

But management has for months dragged their feet on a final settlement with these vital medical techs and therapists. Leaders of the Western Connecticut Healthcare Network (WCHN), the non-profit that operates both acute care facilities, have failed to support an agreement that would respect these hands-on healers.

Instead, network leaders have allowed millions in bonuses and incentives to be handed out to top executives who don’t provide direct bedside care.
