At STEM Magnet School in Hartford, 4th Grade Teacher Erin Wilson is striving to give her students the best education possible.
“You have to meet every student’s needs,” says Erin. “I take on that responsibility every day and that’s why I’m here. I utilize professional development and other resources to be the best teacher possible so my students can learn more.”
As a mentor, Erin works with the University of Hartford to recruit and train student teachers. “We need the most highly qualified teachers in urban schools.”
Erin has a high success rate of getting the new teachers she works with to stay in Hartford. “This is where we’re needed. You make a difference every single day.”
