“The Performance Evaluation Advisory Council (PEAC) has recommended changes to the state’s evaluation guidelines that our member teachers have long advocated for. The revisions will provide needed relief, and more importantly, empower educators and administrators to better serve their students’ needs.
“While all three proposals are significant improvements, the recommendation to ‘de-link’ teacher evaluations from a single test score and focus on ‘growth over time’ is a major step forward.
“We have remained fully engaged in the collaborative process that the legislature created with PEAC. It is working because it enables public education stakeholders to address their mutual concerns in an efficient and effective manner. We will continue to do so going forward.”
