Current law requires hospitals to work collaboratively with their caregivers to create a staffing plan. This bill would make the collaboration more meaningful because the reports would have to be submitted to the state public health department. It would also require hospitals to report actual daily staffing levels on a quarterly basis, which would create more transparency on a situation that is directly related to patient care.
